As one of the deepest natural harbours in the world, Milford Haven is ideally positioned for cruise vessels operating Transatlantic, British Isles, North Cape, Icelandic and Baltic itineraries. The port is also an ideal location for Northern Europe to Mediterranean positioning voyages. The port currently hosts one of the largest passenger and freight ferry operators between Ireland and the UK, with twice-daily sailings from Pembroke Dock. Milford Haven is a trust port that is operated by Milford Haven Port Authority. Two main areas within the harbour have the ability to accommodate cruise vessels – Milford Haven and Pembroke Dock.
Based in the heart of the UK’s only coastal National Park, the Port of Milford Haven is a gateway into West Wales – a land of passion and history. From countless historic landmarks and stunning flora and fauna, to the traditions of Welsh music, art and crafts, Wales is a country of culture and diversity.
Milford Haven Port Authority offers a modern port of professionalism and flexibility and welcomes your guests to the charismatic county of Pembrokeshire. Situated at the most westerly point of Wales, Pembrokeshire is a fascinating place of contrasts – where the cultural characteristics of its many settlers over hundreds of years, the Celtic people, the Vikings and the Normans, leave a cultural mix that is unique.
Stunning coastal scenery, rolling countryside and some of Europe’s finest beaches lie alongside the many historic treasures that the county has to offer. St. Davids is the smallest city in Britain and spiritual capital of Wales, its beautiful 12th century cathedral is a magnificent shrine to Wales’ patron saint. Pembrokeshire provides the backdrop for many castles, including Pembroke Castle, the birthplace of Henry Tudor and Picton Castle, home of the Philips family since the 13th Century.
Steeped in history, the charming towns and villages of West Wales combine individual delights with natural beauty. From the coastal resort of Tenby with its historic town walls and fine merchant’s houses, to the village of Solva built around a deep, dramatic rocky inlet. The latter adored by artists for the very special light that illuminates the coastline. The town of Narbeth hosts attractive shops and local crafts, whilst Milford Haven boasts a vibrant marina and intriguing past. There are numerous other coastal and riverside villages where you can relax in the heart of a county loyal to its past, whilst embracing the diversity of its future.
